Kettlebells and the New Age Bodybuilder!
If you are into muscle building then you have to understand the true meaning of bodybuilding. Bodybuilding is defined as the process of developing the musculature of the body through specific types of exercise and dieting. Usually this is done for the purpose of competitive exhibition. Now the fact is that there are many forms of “bodybuilding.”
For instance, an athlete such as a football player must build his body up in order to withstand the rigors of the competitive season. The baseball pitcher must have superior core strength, conditioning, and shoulder stability to perform the vigorous task of throwing the ball by a batter inning after inning! I think you see what I’m talking about. Now the new age bodybuilder that I am referring to is really taken from a page out of the past. Eugene Sandow was one of the first “bodybuilders” to engage in public exhibition. The thing that separates Sandow from today’s so-called bodybuilders is that he displayed both his physique and his strength!
The fact is that Sandow understood the importance of strength and that size could be achieved with it, without losing the necessity of function. Sandow used kettlebells, barbells, and even anvils to lift in front of crowds that were in awe of his overwhelming presentations of these feats. You see the new age bodybuilder is one that can achieve both form and function. Any other method is just second place.
Like Sandow and many bodybuilders of old, kettlebells were a big part of achieving superior total-body muscle and power. The way to develop a super ripped and super strong body is through dynamic movement. Size doesn’t have to be compromised by doing this either because a smart bodybuilder knows how to combine both elements of function and size, just like Sandow! Train hard and keeping swinging that bell my friends.
