Kettlebell training for baseball is a sure way to develop superior strength and conditioning. You can also go a step further by including a couple of agility cones into the the mix. In order to enhance your athletic performance for baseball you have to work on your speed, quickness, and power. All of these combine to allow you (the baseball player) to achieve a top-notch level of fitness!
I want to talk about a simple workout that you an implement with the use of a single kettlebell and a couple of agility cones to help you gain that top notch level of fitness. Make sure that you have an open space to perform this workout. To begin, set the cones up in a straight line with about a distance of 5 yards between them. Place your kettlebell off to the side out of the way of the cones. Start at the kettlebell by picking it up with both hands to perform a series of 30 double-arm swings.
Once you finish with the double-arm kettlebell swings drop the bell and immediately line up on one of the two cones that you have set up. Get into an athletic stance with one foot lined up on a cone. From this cone simply perform a lateral shuffle to the opposite cone and immediately shuffle back. Once you shuffle to the opposite cone and back count that as a single repetition. This drill is fantastic for developing your lateral agility and overall foot quickness for baseball. With this drill being combined with the kettlebell you cover all of your bases, no pun intended, for developing speed, quickness, and power.
As a baseball player you have got to step up your training with the ancient kettlebell. Combine this hard-hitting tool with some simple cones and watch your athleticism enhance everyday! Give it a try and train hard my friends.
