So I was right in the middle of cooking a big pot of my favorite spaghetti on Sunday when a push notification came in on my phone. As usual I grabbed it preparing myself to delete another useless spamming email when I quickly stopped myself seeing that the email was from the Editor of Breaking Muscle.
Brandon Richey Fitness Is A Top 10 Fitness Blog
As you may remember I was notified a week or two ago that the BRF site had been a top 20 finalist in Breaking Muscle’s Top 10 Best Fitness Blogs on the internet contest. I was very happy with this news and at that point I honestly didn’t feel that the BRF site would make it into the Top 10.
I mean at this point I was happy enough with being a Top 20 finalist and literally didn’t put another thought into making the Top 10. After all, when looking over the votes that were needed to be selected for the whole process there was some stiff competition out there with a few of those sites racking up some serious votes.
Nevertheless, I called on you (the BRF Elite) to take a moment of your time to place a vote and one by one the BRF crew propelled the site up the ladder. I mean the readers came through one by one, but on a consistent and steady enough basis that we accumulated enough votes to propel the BRF site right into the Top 10. This is exactly what the editor of Breaking Muscle was emailing me with a big congratulations in order.
Granted votes alone weren’t the sole criteria in making the Top 10. There were a panel of judges with various backgrounds in fitness, athletics, and strength to examine the various blogs based on a list of standard criteria.
I’m writing this today to simply say Thank You. Without you rockstars sitting on the other end of this computer screen reading and interacting with what I’m hammering out on this keyboard this wouldn’t be possible. It’s been a lot of hard work and something I’ve devoted myself to doing in hopes of being recognized on such a level in the field. If you haven’t seen the list check it out here.
This isn’t just about the BRF blog being a Top 10 Fitness Blog…it’s about you (The BRF Readers) sharing a common belief in fitness, self reliance, a growing culture of strength, and a belief in approaching strength and life in an intelligent manner. In essence it’s about working harder everyday to make oneself better.
It’s nice to see what folks will support such a cause and that means a lot. I guess what’s shocking is all of those wouldn’t stand behind this cause, but that’s a rant for another day.
