The Kettlebell and Ladder Combination – A Formula For Athleticism!
As an athlete I have always understood the importance of physical training and how it applies to on-field success! These days it doesn’t matter what sport you compete in you must be fast, quick, strong and powerful to be successful. For this article I have included 2 drills for you to achieve these very traits with a minimal use of equipment!
To begin, all you will need is an open flat space, an agility ladder, and a kettlebell of moderate resistance. With all three of these ingredients you have just created an environment for success. To begin your hard-hitting athletic performance training program you will first start on the agility ladder. Simply stand in the ladder with one foot in the ladder and the other staggered just outside the ladder. Now rip off a series of high knee runs from one end of the ladder to the other side. When you get to the other side simply switch feet and come back.
As soon as you come back immediately grab your kettlebell and perform 30 double-arm swings! This is where you will figure out that you are truly forging your body into being the total athlete. Permit yourself a minute and thirty seconds of rest before repeating the process. As you get better at completing the speed of the drill and developing speed in the process then you can change what drills you do on both the ladder and the kettlebell.
Remember that total athleticism is built! Hammer away at this evil combination and your on-field performance will drastically improve. Train hard and enjoy friends!
