Unconventional Strength Training For Some Friends…
So today I decided to head over to introduce some of my good friends out of the United Kingdom to some good ‘ole fashioned Unconventional strength training. That’s right, today I decided it was time to emphasize the importance of sharing information in regards to how valuable a hardware store can be to your training. Of course, I shared a little more in addition to that as well!

So lately my friend Henry Croft has kept me busy banging out the content with both the interview we did last week (In case you missed that you can see it here) and with the latest article I did for him on his Gym-Talk site. Even though I’m on Georgia time here in the states and he’s on UK time we are seemingly managing to somehow to get things done in a very efficient manner. I mean when you stop and think about it the internet is a crazy thing.
Nevertheless, I wanted to make sure I took the time to direct you over to the Gym-Talk site to see what I put together for them over there. I’m real excited about this and it looks like he’s already got some goodies for me to post up here on the BRF site real soon as well. I’ve got to give Henry a virtual high-five for that because I don’t mind giving my fingers a break from pounding on the keyboard.
Anyways, take a minute to check out the post I did for him on Gym-Talk by clicking on the link here below. Keep training smart!

Good read, Brandon. Over the years I’ve found “jerry rigging” equipment for unconventional training to be a real pleasure. Just something satisfying about engaging in training that is outside the boundaries of the norm. The change in “feel” is refreshing as well.
Sprint interval work dragging a sandbag or two on my “sled” which is really just a piece of plywood I found in a construction site dumpster with an eye-hook through one end is a favorite of mine. Get some weird looks when I take it to the park … but what the hell, great work-out.
Recently found a pile of large landscaping stones off in the woods. Fun to pick up and toss for distance and as far as exercise equipment goes, the price is right … Free.
Doc that is some creative “jerry rigging” for sure! I like the versatility within the simplicity of these tools. It’s a clever way to derive a comprehensive strength and conditioning program without the need for a fancy facility.
Oh and by the way those people giving you funny looks don’t know what they’re missing out on as far as the benefits. Trust me, I get those same looks. It’s cool knowing we share a common thread in terms of acquiring strength. Those of us who do understand and those who don’t are missing out on something incredibly valuable.
Thanks again for the feedback Doc!
